Emily Bell’s Raspberry Vinegar

Ingredients

1 Ib Raspberries
1 pint white malt vinegar.
1 lb granulated sugar (optional)

Method.
Put fruit and vinegar into a glass or earthen ware bowl .Cover with a cloth and allow to stand for three to five days .Stirring occasionally
Strain off liquid into a saucepan.Set over a low heat and add sugar,if used.Stir until dissolved.
Boil the mixture for 10 minutes,then pour into a glass bottle. (sugar may be added to taste when vinegar is used.)
 
 
This is an old fashioned remedy for sore throats.In Emily's home was poured over hot Yorkshire Puddings and eaten as a sweet course.
